Soldier's Angels Presentation

With this Web 2.0 Project I have struggled, gotten very angry, almost wanted to quit, but kept going a learned a lot. For my first Web 2.0 project I am very happy with the outcome and here is my critique for my project:

With the flow of information I believe I did very well. In the beginning I gave a content slide of what will be explain and so I had every topic fit into one another and follow the content slide. I believe I grabbed the attention of the audience. I placed photos of soldiers, showing them one at a time while explaining what these people do for us and that we should help. I hope the listener will feel a sense of gratitude and want to keep watching and learn more. As for questions and answers, I brought up the topic of helping the military which included four groups of people (deployed, wounded, families back home, and the retired) and gave examples of how to do so for each. When it came to physical appearance of the PowerPoint, there were no typing errors or clutter, I made sure I used a ton of white space, if there were any inconsistencies or errors it would be in my vocal presentation because I do get nervous, ever if there is not a physical crowd in front of me, and tend to stumble on my words even if I have a note card in front of me. That being said, I did not read the slides, I made sure to put facts or bullet point up on the slide and explain it in my words so boredom would not be an issue.

While critiquing someone elses work it gave me another insight to my own presentation. When I tend to critique other peoples work, I unfortunately, can be very harsh. But, I hope they are thankful because I try to tell them every little thing that may need work for them to get closer to a better grade. So, I went back to my project and changed the order of some slides and rerecorded my presentation to that which I thought was more appropriate.

I learned a lot from this project. I thought I knew how to use PowerPoint but now I will use it on a whole other level. I have learned how to have text and photos come into the slide, before the only affect I really knew how to do was changing the slides. I also mastered the sound affect in PowerPoint and am very proud. The only thing that did not turn out as good as I had hoped was the recording itself. I recorded in three different rooms and this video has the best quality and yet there is still background noise. But, I did learn how to cut clips of the video out using Camtasia Studio and let’s just say I will never get a job in film editing. When it came to the YouTube portion of the project everything just went downhill. It took an hour to try and upload. I don’t know what went wrong but I found a way to get it online though another source and to everyone so I am satisfied.

Hopefully, I will never have to upload a presentation to a web page or have to prerecord a presentation in my career, if so I need a lot of work. But, if it is just making a PowerPoint, I am ready to blow them away with a professional, interesting, and engaging presentation.
So here is my presentation on Soldiers Angel’s. Enjoy.
